There is no accepted
standard definition for holistic, holistic health, or
holistic medicine.
Holistic as a whole is made up of interdependent parts.
It can be referred to as - the mind/ body connection,
mind/ body/ spirit connection, or physical/ mental/ emotional/
spiritual aspects.
But when this meaning is applied to illness, it is called
holistic medicine and includes a number of factors,
such as - dealing with the root cause of an illness,
increasing patient involvement, and considering both
conventional (allopathic) and complementary (alternative)
therapies.
Few sessions like reflexology, aromatherapy or any
other alternative medicine therapy is one way of leading
a healthier life. But to prevent physical and emotional
diseases a holistic life style is what one must live.
Going holistic means turning away from any conventional
medical options and using alternative treatments exclusively.
