In Taichi posture
is said to be the most important related to mechanical
efficiency. The Practitioner explains how weights are
to be shifted allover the body. Taichi in posture tests
how strong postures can be using muscle power, weight
and size.
For example it begins with the head where you are asked
to lift the head as supporting an object on top of it
and certain spot on the crown of the head should be
extended out. So there is a pull of nerves and Spine
that help improve posture.
The advanced exercises include Standing in Posture.
A method where one puts more weight on one leg than
the other. When the weight is too much it starts to
ache and when you release that leg and shift to stand
on the other you release those muscles, this releasing
of muscles help to lengthening the spine too.
Remember that you practice slowly and carefully under
the guidance of your practitioner. As Taichi requires
moment-to-moment attentiveness to posture, enabling
to perform better each movement more efficiently. Better
posture thus translates into better balance and flexible
and greater strength.
