Decorating In Fengshui Way By Pramila Paul
Furniture Placement:

The way furniture is arranged enhances the life force. Furniture placement in feng shui is a key element in directing the flow of Chi.

When placing furniture it is important not to block, interfere, distort, or force the flow of chi. Place furniture parallel to walls as this will not cram furniture and accessories into a tight space. Have the minimum in the room. Have least three feet of space between furniture. Raise beds, chairs, and couches at least a few inches off the floor.

No furniture opposite bedrooms. Dining chairs should be even in number. Shoe racks should be placed in the southwest portion of the verandah or hall only. Do not place in the east southeast or north.

Your room needs some air too. So position the furniture so it allows chi to move freely and also a good view of the entryway. Frequently used items at eye level so you may reach it when necessary. Place almirah containing important documents in the southwest corner of the room, or southwest room. It should be facing the North or EAST. If placing in other rooms, or areas, have 6 feet gap between the wall and the almirah.

Accessories can add a personal touch. Pictures should be placed at so that when sitting down they are not too high above eye level. When hanging big pictures, hung over a large piece of furniture.
