Bagua means (Nine Parts) -
the Map of Chi Enhancers, Yin and Yang and The Five Elements.
The living space is divided into different Areas of Sections
in feng shui to determine the most auspicious placement of possessions.
Each area or section represents life and corresponds with a
color and element. The sections in Bagua are divided into 9
(nine).
According to the Chinese, in Feng shui Turtle is considered
a symbol of the universe. Its back, which is shaped like a dome,
represents the sky, and the many marks covering its shell are
said to represent the planets and constellations. Turtles belly
represents the earth, and records in science show that the lifespan
of a turtle is about one thousand years. Turtle is also considered
one of the four "spiritually endowed" in conjunction with the
Unicorn, Phoenix and dragon as a symbol of wisdom, strength,
endurance and longevity.
We discussed about the Turtle above as the original story of
the Bagua began with a turtle. Between 2938 and 2853 BC, it
is said that an emperor was sitting along the bank of a river,
when he observed a turtle slowly climbing ashore; He began to
analyze the markings on his back. As the marking began to dry
in the sun, he saw that the patterns seemed to change. He immediately
thought that the markings seem to resemble the trigrams that
are found in the "I Chin", which is the Chinese book of changes.
He then used these trigrams to design the Bagua, or Lo Shun.
To help determine the most auspicious placement of possessions,
the living space is divided into sections known in Feng Shui
as baguas. Bagua is composed of nine houses with the earth occupying
the center house. Its original design is octagonal, however,
in the Western Culture it is often displayed in the shape of
a square. Each represents an area of life and corresponds with
a color and element
The Nine houses are Wealth, Fame, Relationships, Children, Benefactors,
Career, Knowledge and Family and the last one is the center
chi that takes care of all the other eight Gua. Shapes, pictures,
patterns and textures all play a role in good Feng Shui, as
do the individual's personal auspicious colors, numbers and
elements.
The Bagua, in Feng Shui, is specifically defined as a template
that is placed over a specific area, i.e. a survey map; the
plan of a garden, the blueprint of a home, a specific room,
or any area defines the location of each of the houses in relationship
to the areas you wish to enhance
As the goal in Feng Shui is to alter the Chi -vital energy by
channeling and re-directing its flow, and improve the conditions
that exist between an individual and their environment. Using
the Chi (Life Energy) The Five Elements and The Bagua, we can
now develop and enhance any space that we occupy to achieve
balance and harmony in each and every aspect of our lives.
The NINE Bagua are divide into 8 exterior parts that are-- Wealth
,Power Area , Fame And Reputation Area, Relationship or Marriage
Area, Family &, Health Area, Children & Creativity, Knowledge/
Wisdom Area, Helpful People, Travel Or Mentors Area, Career
Area and one Central part- Well Being Area.
As you walk in the front door or main entrance of your house,
the far left corner is Wealth corner, the far right is relations,
in between the same wall is Fame corner. The left corner near
the door is knowledge area, right corner is mentors and in between
the same center close to the door is the career area. An area
between wealth and knowledge to the left is family, and the
center part to the right between relations and mentors is children
area.
You can make use of this bagua to the entire building, Plot,
each room, or even a desk. |
